News and Events:Press ReleaseHigh performance, small in size: New 4K Extender from Black Box4K, HDMI and transparent USB extension over fibre with outstanding price-performance ratioHallbergmoos, 16. März 2016 - No bigger than a matchbox, the new 4K Extender is now available from IT network and infrastructure specialists Black Box. This exceedingly compact device extends video with resolutions up to 4K UHD (3840x2160) and, in addition to supporting USB HID, also supports transparent USB 1.1 for touchscreen or KVM applications. With a range of 300 metres (1080p), or 40 metres (4K UHD) over a standard multimode cable, it is ideal for use in industrial, healthcare or broadcasting environments. The compact, lightweight housing measures 4 x 5.6 x 1.5 cm and can be installed discreetly behind the screen (receiver) or computer (transmitter), ensuring economy of space. At the same time, both the extender units USB interface powered. If the monitor does not have a USB port, then the included external power adapter can be used. Transmitter and receiver are connected by means of a conventional, inexpensive multimode cable. These fibre optic cables are immune to electromagnetic interference (EMI/RFI), which has an adverse effect on transmission quality, making them ideal for medical imaging or remote industrial displays and controls. Moreover, the extender is not limited to being used as purely a video extender: the USB HID and transparent USB 1.1 transmission renders it a first-rate solution for additional control using mouse and keyboard or even touchscreens. The device is now available for under 1,000 euros.
